Gen 3.5 Front Right Squeal/Noise

Postby RiKardo94 » Fri Jul 25, 2014 9:29 pm

Hey folks!
Hopefully someone has a better idea of whats happening here :)
Not long ago, a screeching/squealing noise started emitting from my front right wheel, whenever I brake or turn right. I already checked brake pads and discs; they have no signs of uneven wear, I've cleaned up all the brake dust accumulated but sadly - no improvement ...

Could this be a suspension issue? Anything else worn out?

I would much appreciate if someone could enlighten me about whats going on :D
Thanks in advance! :)

Im not an expert by any means, but I had this on my last gen 3, and it was down to the bolt at the top of the suspension fort (inside the engine bay) being loose.
Popped the rubber cap off, tightened, and noise gone.

Worth a try.

Also, check the splashguard behind the disc, sometimes these get distorted and scrub on the rotor causing unsettling noises.

Hey, im back :)
Finally, i had some time to check what exactly that noise was....

I have found out that i need to get my ears checked. :D
The noise is actually coming from the back, but it sounded different in the cabin, as i was almost certain the front is squealing ...
So, after a short look: right rear brake pads are worn to the point of "the squeal* and the disc is worn too, i think rear discs are still original (9 years old) ...
I have already ordered brake pads and discs. so upon getting the package i shall get my hands dirty! Again :)

Thanks for all the help though, was still useful.

Should i record the work and post it up here?

Cheers mates!
