Rust protection.

Postby driver0606 » Sun Nov 23, 2014 7:56 pm

Hello. Actually I don't want to protect the rust, I want to avoid it! I have just bought my second series III (2008), but this one will have to drive on muddy roads and live outside, maybe on grass. I have had a good look underneath and am surprised at the amount of rusty nuts, brackets etc. The main structural areas look OK, but seem to have very little paint on them. I thought cars did not go rusty any more, but this looks as if it could become bad in a few years. All comments gratefully appreciated. John.

They all look like it sadly.

Jack up the car and get your wire brush out and scrape and clean.

The brush on wax oil and protect it, all cars still rust it just tends to. E more hidden than cars of old
