parts wise most parts will fit gen 3 and gen3.5-quite a bit will fit siii but not the body panels

gen 1 and 2 feature many different parts despite being similar in many ways.

scoupe can mainly be repaired using lantra parts-and lots of engine bits from a lantra fits the gen1

the scoupe is not really related to the gen1(scoupe is a lantra)but was first
the scoupe can be very unreliable but is long lived

the gen2 is often reffered to as "the frog eyed wart" due to a comment made by clarkson years ago

the gen3.5 front swap is not quite as straightforward as made out,but a gen 3 can easily be made into a 3.5.the siii swap can be done but panel wise is not economical

i have just bought a coupe i think it is a Gen 1 it is a 2.o 1997 auto

its a gen 1 all right

It's important to remember a few things.......
Your reg plate may have been changed....
Also many gen 3's now have 3.5 lights at the front and rear and may even have had front bumper replaced.look at rear foglights-real gen3.5 are plain gen 3 are frosted.not a common part to find so may not have been changed.also check out the alarm to serif its a scorpion.....look under bonnet for giveaway black half moon box on bulkhead or suspicious screw holes where it was....also look at side gills.....early ones look like gills later ones more open

It has got a private plate though. Which explains that

Gen 3 Rear

This is a Gen 3 1.6 S (Single Exit Exhaust is the 1.6 Give-Away - The 2.0 and V6 have Duel Exit)

It has the Standard 16" wheels of a Gen 3 1.6S and 2.0 SE.



Gen 3.5 Rear

This is a Gen 3.5 2.0 SE but has the the HYUNDAI COUPE and SE Badges removed by the looks of it!

These 17" Wheels where Standard on this Gen 3.5 2.0 SE (and Standard on the Gen 3 2.7 V6)



Ignore the Exhaust and Imagine these are both 2.0 SE's

From the 4 Photos above (all just randomly got from Auto Trader tonight by the way) you should be able to see...

Different Wheels
Different Side Gills (easier to notice difference from Rear photo)
Different Front Lights
Different Front Bumper
Different Front Grill
Different Side Repeater Lens
Different Rear Light Lens
Different Rear Fog Light Lens (not so noticeable in Pics)

There are just a many interior differences as well

Main difference is about +/- £2,000 in the price!

That was a version they did to celebrate winning the F2 rally championship, just a tarted up SE
