an ecu reset will force it to re-learn your driving habbits, however it's never going to be crack on, my petrol light came on today even though it said I had 90 miles left.

its crap, ignore it. Better off judging it by the needle, not the digital display. The one in my car often goes up rather than down as I drive.

silly peice of tech with no usefull purpose it would be better if it told you your actual mpg
on my gen3.5 v6 i have a dial above the head unit which indicates mpg at any given throttle position still not very usefull unles you want to know how quick your killing the plannet
im killing it at an verage rate of 20mpg ouch
better go and plant a forest

Onboard Trip Computer

Postby Danny » Wed Jun 02, 2010 6:34 pm

my light has just come on and it says i have 55 miles left , i put 8 quid in today and the light is still on and the miles have remained on 55 ... this a common fault with the gen 3 ?

Noticed that with our gen3 too.

I think it's linked to the mpg dial... if that shows low mpg it assumes that's what you do and so miles left drops. Try and keep the mpg dial on a high mpg reading and the miles left on the dash readout sometimes goes up!

I just got a Gen 3 and noticed the same thing. I put 60 quids worth of fuel in, the fuel gauge shot to full and the computer said i had 155 miles before i had to fill up again. Sleepless night wandering if i could ever afford to run the thing!! Thanks for giving me a bit of confidence that i wont be seeing 15 MPG.
Daft question but as i am presently lacking a users maunal (anyone got a spare?) how do you scroll between the displays?
