help regarding these...

Postby SmoggyTalisman » Sat Feb 11, 2012 10:42 pm

alright, so looking into getting something like these: http://www.jmautoracing.com/hyundai-tiburon-0305-tail-lights-smoke-p-45562.html

not those exact ones, but something similar possibly. undecided yet, but just wondering how hard they are to fit. i mean, changing the bulbs in headlights is easy enough but this would be a whole unit. any help is much appreciated.they'll be going on my black 04 coupe so i think they should look good.

cheers lads

The link has just taken me to the site. Not whatever you have linked. Swapping headlights is pretty straight forward on all coupes though buddy

Nope bad idea.American site and lots of their tail lights are smaller and leave a big gap as I know from painful and water logged boot experience.Avoid those

I think it's nearly all aftermarket lights are designed for US Coupes, and don't fit perfect.
It's the same with Gen 1, and probs Gen 2.

By all accounts LED tail lights (original post item) mess up your Cruise control.

However, I have the same lights as posted above and have no major problems.
They'll need re-sealing as they'll fog up if you don't. The fit isn't OEM standard but it' ok. I haven't had any water leaks into the boot (yet).

Fitting them (if that was a concern) is easy!

Also, the lights on the above post are too expensive. Mine were £70 off ebay with delivery from the US.

didn't notice the reply's cheers lads. i've been looking into it and decided i would definitely like the smoked rear but prefferably the LED purely on looks. however, if i get them, i'm not sure how well they would go seeing as my front headlights are just the factory fitted ones so lexus maybe the better option.

thanks shaz, those are pretty nice!

Cheers Peter, but just how "easy" is it? bearing in mind, all ive ever had to do to my car is change a bulb! also how would i go about re-sealing them?

thanks

Shaz. Search for Hyundai Tiburon tail lights and a few will come up. They're all US but are £67/70. I think you'll need postage as well which I think is about £25. I might be wrong though. When I've got more time i'll dig out where I got mine from and let you know.

In terms of fitting they're easy. Only 3 or 4 (I can't remember) bolts holding them on. Theres also a DIY on here I think.

Resealing: I just ran some sealant around the edge!!! Very professional
