Any other young drivers?

Postby Maccees » Fri Jan 20, 2012 3:41 pm

Just wondering if you are if you could tell me what sort of insurance quotes you are getting, and who with?

I'm 18, one years no claims.

Got a quote for a 2006 2.0 Atlantic for £1000
Also got a quote for a 2007 2.0 SIII for £5000

I really wanted the SIII :( haha

28 and pay £700 all in for 2.0

I reckon it could be cheaper if I was with Aflux.

I got the coupe when I was 20, to cover it without any mods was £2400 for the year
Now I'm 25 and pay 1/3rd of that to cover it with a list of mods longer than my arm!

Adrian Flux, though I bounce between them and Sky. 5 years protected no claims, fully comp, drive any car and all mods covered inc. lowered. Probably helps that I live in the middle of nowhere

Its all about post code and sooo many other things now a days than just age.

20 years old - 2.0l 2007 Siii mildly modified and im paying £1000 a year, though im sure although turning 21 this year wont help the cost down against the incredible rises! :|

That's not a bad price Lewy. I was paying 950 when I was 21 on the coupe but that was on a gen2 worth about 4p.

From what I've heard, garage doesn't help that much, as if the thief/burger gets into the garage, they'll be pretty undisturbed whilst they steal your car. Not sure how true though.

Yeah that makes sense however we have whats called a megablaster - something like the loudest alarm that it hurts your ears so much you cant stand near it. though theres also ear muffs in the garage :P lol
