W reg SE auto

Postby stuart1951 » Wed Sep 22, 2010 4:14 pm

Hi there has anybody any ideas on why my 2000 "W" reg Se auto will not go above 20mph when driven and at standstill and in park will not rev above 2000 rpm, this seemed to occur after a overheating problem due to a dodgy thermostat. Could it be a sensor? anyone have any ideas can't seem to get an answer anywhere

I think the 'get you home' setting in the ECU has been activated and will need to be reset by someone with a reader (ie Hyundai main dealer)

Those fault code readers are great for diagnostics and Hyundai generally don't charge a fortune for a looksy.

There is a guy over your way called Essextech PM him he may be able to help :D

Tried a couple of dealers to get a price to reprogramme to no avail, does anyone in and around SE Essex know of a mobile mechanical type person who could do the work, other than that i will have to hire a trailer and take it somewhere for it to be done

I would say essex-tech, but don't think he has a scanner.
When it comes to getting into computers its either main dealers or Ross (Sharky) at Tiburon Automotive in Birmingham.
