Fuel Economy

I've had my gen 3 coupe for a while now and i've noticed it is quite heavy on the fuel. Its a 2.0 SE Automatic. Its only giving 20MPG at the moment. Is that the same for everyone who owns the same model? Maybe i need to service it properly?
