Glass Polish

I've been thinking about glass polish for awhile now, is it really that much better than just normal glass cleaner? Or are they pretty much the same. I thought about it so much I've managed to confuse myself!

Auto Glym is great, it adds a waxy layer to the glass helping the wipers to run smoother and rain to run off easier. No doubt someone will be along shortly to diss the use of auto glym.

I failed miserably with autoglym..ended up peering through dishwater when it rained..spent an hour with every solvent in the garage to get rid.

you only need a tiny amount, its not like cheap muck that you have to splash on to get any effect. same goes for their car polishes.

I usually wash the window directly after a bug has splayed its butt all over it. :D

i use autoglym 'fast glass' , its simple and quick and leaves a very clean window, however if you have the patience of a saint the autoglym window cleaner in a blue paste form is just as good but needs time and effort as is does tend to leave a slight residue once u have polished it out.

Cheers

the autoglym polish might make them a tad better, its like tcut on paint if its a light scuff it will get it out if its a deep scratch your screwed.

For scratched glass you need jewellers rouge, google it you should be able to source it quite easily.

Does that actually do anything? The windscreen/door windows on my coupe are covered in scratches. I sorta just assumed that once they were scratched that was it. Wrecked...

it works for slight surface scratches. jewelers rouge is too abrasive for windscreens. for them you need to use cerium oxide. these are professional products for a reason.....professionals need to use them. requires buffers and dremels and all thing that plug into walls :)

If the glass is "wreaked" it might need a replacement.

Well, the glass on my coupe is wrecked period. So I don't think it's all that salvageable.
What with it being wrecked as in, the past tense of wreck rather than 'wreaked'. Although I suppose you could say the elements have wreaked havoc upon my windscreen throughout the tenure of its attachment to my car.
