For a bit of a spin I think it would be a good idea for the car of the month to include cars which others nominate (as there's a lot of people who worry their car's not good enough)

so nominate here which cars from our pics-vids-your-car/ section should be put into the competition.

I know it's supposed to be nominate someone else this time but if I, or someone else nominated me, regardless of win or lose am I able to be nominated again if I add more mods? As that's what's always put me off - in my mind my car ''isn't finished''.
Essentially is there a cooling off period?

I do plan on putting some new pictures up as I haven't put any new ones up in ages haha.

Also when you list mods how far do you go with it? I've got loads of little ones, or would I just list the main ones?

Problem is your car is never really finished, which is why some of the more creative cars never get entered.

Winners can't be up for voting for the remainder of the year (as it would break the car of the year) and we would generally prefer people to be on rotation so if you've been in a vote we would like to put people who haven't up first, that said we try to put cars which are similar up against each other to avoid one sided voting.

mod listing is up to you, I think most people vote based on looks.

Thought it might work something like that. I'll see if I can't at least get my console fascia sorted (as my interior is one of my prouder mods) lol

The only reason I want nominations is it's hard work getting people applying and I want a decent size pool of applicants so I can put similar cars together, for example if two people are modding towards track monster or two restoring gen 1's to spotless showroom examples it makes no sense to put one of each up against each other as it's just a count of what the voting members prefer in modding direction instead of which is the better car.

Don't worry we'll never force you to go in for the competiton if your not ready, but at the same time, the fact someone else thinks your car is ready may be enough to convince you..

It's a hard one as there are very few "new" things out there at the minute as it's just after Christmas and everyone is poor and been busy with other stresses. I kind of want to nominate gez77 purely for the reason his TSiii is sexy (being a TSiii in grey is a major help in that department haha).
On the other hand I'd kind of think it should be something that someone has clearly put a lot of work and effort into - which would mean me nominating higgie... yeah that's it... I nominate higgie:

with the new nomination mechanic in place, would it still be possible to nominate yourself?

also, is the trophy award still on? what happens when the winner isn't from the UK? like the arguments above, i never entered the contest because i always felt that my car was never really "finished"

You can still apply in the normal way, this is just a way to prod the perfectionists who really should be proud to put their into the competition..

Trophy is for the car of the year (winners of car of the month in for the December vote) car of the month winners get a keyring with their car on, which I will send both abroad if needed.

That's pretty cool then.

If someone won COTM and they'd added a few decent mods later afterwards then could they be added to the list when it came to COTY voting? Or does it have to be using the same pictures and mods from when they won COTM?

New photos are fine, but you need to make sure we know about it because it takes a good hour to get that post together as it is.
