Sat nav works flawlessy, sound quality is spot on for what I want, bluetooth works great too. I got a reverse camera thrown in for free as well

brit wrote:Thankyou mate for your time and great advice, the Ipod function is the most important part for me as would like to have full control through the unit, as me and all of the family have them, so will have to find away of locating the wire somewhere.
Glad the satnav works great which is not a must for me but is an added bonus, looked at the one you said on ebay with more functions, think I will go for this one, will let you know how i get on with it once I ordered it and fitted. thankyou you have been a great help

kicksmithy wrote:I'll just cut and paste what i've wrote on another thread: Xtrons have a UK warehouse now so all their units are no longer imported. I even think next day delivery is included in price. Check their website as they are usually cheaper direct than through ebay: http://www.Xtrons.co.uk

joedeejay wrote:The seller DOESNT do refunds, but will replace like-for-like if any problems under warranty etc.
I had a word with the seller, and has confirmed the warranty on the headunit will not be voided if you alter the ISO Block wiring. Need some red + blue bullet connectors, wire strippers and crimpers, just a simple task of cutting the red and yellow and swapping them with each other.
As far as fitting the headunit goes you need to buy some 5mm bolts, and there is several mounting holes on the Headunit. Drill hole into the OEM cage where the mounting holes are and use the new bolts to mount it to it, I just bought some from local auto spares shop for 60p. GPS Antenna is mounted just under my tax disc holder and gets full signal. That wire runs along the top of the glove box, and then along the door seal. Havnt got round to doing the reverse camera yet as its too bloody cold lol!

Rgray99c wrote:Well im on my third xtrons unit now, and i have to say im happy with it, but at the same time not. Explaination below(model 956 GPS)
As all the chinease units do, it definately rediates cheapness. But mine has two sides to it, the normal music playing, radio side, and gps. Ill start with the music side first. Radio is brilliant, crisp and clear, change to ipod mode though and therell be a ton of bass, and no treble to be heard, then switch it to bluetooth music streaming, and theres no bass, but loads of distorted treble. A long fiddle with music eq settings, and ive got it roughly ok. Now the second side, the gpsat first i thought it was rubbish, it was igo 8. It weas sold to me with (latest map guaruntee) which ill explain more about that in a min. I wasnt too hapopy with it, so i took the sad card inside, and had a look so if i could change the program. I looked inside the igo folder, and it had the maps from q1 (thats beginning of) 2008?? Yeah ok latest maps, so anyway i updated it to q4 2011, then realised i could add things like pois, speed cams, 3d buildings and terrain. So did so and was rather happy with it. Then after some searching i found that you can get access to win ce (Windows mobile operating system that the gps software runs from) so i did so, and now ivre really opened up the units possibilities, now when gps mpode is selected it brings up a screen showing current speed heading, and shortcuts to various used programs, including a big button for navigation, and another for obd2 program thats connected via usb to well the car
So yeah after some heavy modding of the unit, im actually genuinely happy with it, even at the £200 price mark. Its awesome if you know how to unlock its potential

Ideally I would like a rear USB port to feed through my steering column as that is where my iPhone is located in a holder (don't want the wire trailing on the front of the unit).
