Gen 3.5 -> gen 3 lights

Postby Mr Anderson » Sat Feb 11, 2012 10:49 pm

Hi.

Now I know you can tatlock lights etc as I have done a few sets myself.

The thing I don't know is will the front lense from 3.5 lights fit the backing of
The gen 3 lights.

Eg smooth plastic lense on de Amber's base.

I have all the lights and lenses so if no one knows and if you care. I'll let you know haha.

Thanks guys!

Cheers;

Matt

You can't split 3.5 lights? Wouldn't they just heat up and desperate like gen 3 lights??

I'd say, as you can fit 3.5 lights to a 3, that the housing is gonna be the same shape, so I'm gonna say yes. Although I didn't know the glass part was different anyway lol.

If you've got 3.5 lights, aren't they non-amber ones to start with? So just fit them? Or am I missing something?

Are your 3.5 lights damaged and you'd rather get cheap Gen3 ones, tatlock and use the internals with a flat lens? (not a bad idea, much cheaper and I kind of like the Gen3 internals)

Haha. It's a lot of faff for nothing to be honest!!

I have gen 3 lights that I de Ambered. As they are gen 3 lights they have the bubble lense!

I want flat lenses so have got my hands on another set of gen 3 lights and some gen 3.5 lights.
When I deamber the gen 3 lights I'm wanting to swap the bubble lense for flat! The chrome
Internals suit the car. But I prefer smooth lense to bubble!!

Does that make sense or have I babbled/ need sectioning?!

So the 3.5 lights aren't chrome?

With ya now, no reason the lenses wouldn't swap, easiest way is to check. lol. Don't *think* it's been done before.
