Electric window problem

Postby Rgray99c » Wed Jan 11, 2012 10:08 pm

Ok guys, my drivers window is being annoying. It struggles, and i mean really struggles to go down, you have to press the switch, then push down on the window to get it started, and once it starts going down, it goes down so slowly its unreal. But putting it up is absolutely fine, hold the switch up and it goes straight up, no noises, no messing and pretty quick too, nearly lost a finger :P do we think it could still be the motor, or the actual regulator or "dreaded cassette" ?

Could be the switch... Either needs cleaning or replacing!

But it does sound like the motor to me... Suggest you read the thread fully!

How can i test the switch? cause just continuity isnt enough as i found out from the boot realease switch. that has continuity when pulled but it wont allow a voltage through? so how would i test that the switch will let a voltage hough? rig up a test light?

i had this problem so i took the door apart (followed guide for actuators) took the black panel off found the motor (cut a long story short took me about 1 hour to work out) the connector to the motor wasnt connecting properly pushing it down made it work so i put a cable tie around the motor and the connector and it works perfect every time i push the button (how cheap was that fix) happy days just in time for the summer lol
