electric window fault

Postby tazzo76 » Sun Oct 03, 2010 5:39 pm

Hi there my drivers side elec window has just stopped working. noticed that it has been running a bit slow and sounding rough but now has gone kapputt!!! is there only 1 fuse running both windows on the gen 3? the passenger side works perfectly and can only find 1 30 amp fuse. There is no noise coming from the motor and doesn't try and move at all. tried pushing on it slightly when operating the window to see if its stuck but still no good. and help would be great thanks

there are three suspects here
1.the switch(cheapest option)
2.the motor
3.the cable

no noise is switch or motor

hi there, well the window got stuck down yesterday so took the panel off and had a look. changed the switch and wasn't that ( thanks Dupleman will get that back to you tomorrow) noticed a bit of water around the connector to the motor so disconnected and squirted some wd40 and left it to dry. pluged back in and it worked but still sounds a little rough and a bit slow!! just debaiting wether to get just the motor or all of it? what you think?
